Why is it that things just seem to work out for some people?

Some people are just plain lucky and all the best opportunities seem to go out of their way to place themselves at the feet of these blessed people that are constantly at the right place and in the right time. These people always have nice houses, nice cars, really well behaved kids smothered in the best label clothes and don’t seem to have any problems other than which restaurant do we try next.
