Last year, the National Australia Bank, who owns MLC, acquired AVIVA Australia Group. Based on its takeover arrangements, MLC was entitled to use the Aviva brand until Friday 2 October 2010, after which date all materials carrying the Aviva name were to be withdrawn from the market.
If you hold Aviva Life Insurance policy, then MLC Insurance will be responsible for administering all Aviva insurance policies. You'll still enjoy the same terms, conditions and benefits you currently have but MLC rather than Aviva will be responsible for meeting claims under your life policy.
While you won't have to change your payment arrangements, your premiums will be payable to MLC, rather than Aviva.
All Aviva life insurance applications dated before 2 October 2010 receive a 30 day grace period.
If you currently have an Aviva life insurance application in process dated prior to 2 October 2010, please contact one of our advisers to see if we can get your application finalised before the grace period ends.
If your application is not received before the cut-off date you will have to reapply for the MLC ProtectionFirst policy.
Once your Aviva life insurance application is finalised you will be issued an MLC branded ProtectionFirst PDS with your policy documents.
