Income Protection for Surfers
Surfing is a great recreational sport enjoyed by 1000s of Australian's each year. Our quality beaches, world class waves and top quality international surfers are all recognized internationally. But surfing also has its dangers. Accidents or injuries occur due to a combination of waves energy, drowning, collisions (also with your own surfboard), and even sharks and other marine life such as jellyfish and stingrays. Whilst official statistics are not recorded on surfing related injuries, the instances are known to be high, particularly with males.
An income protection insurance policy can project your income should you become injured while surfing. If you hold an income protection policy, you will be paid up to 75 per cent of your income up to age 65. That income can go towards meeting your financial obligations such as mortgage or rent, medical bills, food, utilities and entertainment.
